Health Psychologist

Research shows that you can feel better and do more if you treat the whole person.  What you feel physically, emotionally, and what is happening in your life can all affect your health.    Dr. Curran helps people with pain or chronic illness make the mind and body connections that can improve symptoms, mood, and overall quality of life.

Dr. Curran works with adult individuals with conditions including:

  • Chronic pain (such as TMJ, facial pain, headaches, neck pain & fibromyalgia)

  • Chronic Fatigue

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome and other gastrointestinal disorders

  • Women's health issues

  • Depression, Anxiety, and PTSD

  • Sleep problems and difficulty relaxing

Treatment consists of learning tools such as:

  • Identify and address your body's response to stress and how being in "fight or flight mode" may be impacting your health and mood

  • Relaxation training and other self-regulation techniques

  • Identify the barriers that get in the way of self-care or make relaxation difficult

  • Identify and address problems related to having a chronic illness such as the impact on your mood, relationships, work, self-esteem, etc....
